The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is a government-aided institute and deemed university for the study and research of space science, located at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

Dual degree details:

5-Year Dual Degree (B.Tech. + M.S./M.Tech.)

The 5-year Dual Degree programme leads to B.Tech. degree in Engineering Physics and any of the following Post-Graduate degree specializations:

(i) M.S. (Astronomy & Astrophysics)
(ii) M.S. (Earth System Science)
(iii) M.S. (Solid State Physics)
(iv) M.Tech. (Optical Engineering) (There is no exit option at the end of four years).

IIST Eligibility Criteria 2016

Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for admission in IIST.

Age : Candidates belonging to General category (GEN) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1991.

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PD) categories must have born on or after October 1, 1986.

Qualifying Examination (10+2 or Equivalent)

Scheduled Tribes (ST) --- 7.5%
