The Indian Institute of Science has a Bioinformatics Centre. A research and information centre of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, is one of the nine distributed information centres setup under the Biotechnology Information System (BTIS), fully funded by Department of Biotechnology with a special focus on molecular biology and allied sciences.
