The mission of IIM (Indian Institute of Management) Tiruchirappalli is to nurture a learning environment, for the creation and distribution of management knowledge by integrating global standards to develop leaders of enterprises who add value to society, and to be a partner in nation building

Campus
IIM (Indian Institute of Management) Tiruchirappalli was founded in 2011 and was temporarily operated at National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli campus and the permanent campus was inaugurated on April 03, 2017 by Prakash Javadekar

It is one of the seven Indian Institutes of Management the Indian government had set up during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan and was mentored by IIM Bangalore.

Its permanent campus is located on a 172.27 acres (69.72 ha) land. The ₹584 crore (US$91 million) permanent campus will comprise of student hostels, faculty residences, a library, recreational facilities and a Management Development Centre. The funding for the new campus is available from Ministry of Human Resource Development.

It has set up a satellite campus at Chennai. It offers a two-year postgraduate programme for working professionals from this campus.
