At IIM Calcutta the Summer Internship Program is meant to bridge the gap between the real-life business and academic institutions.

It is a simulation of the business environment and enables students to experience the rigors of a business organization.

IIMC invites companies on campus to offer 6-7 week internship to VLM candidates, but selection is solely dependent on students caliber and companys policy.

There is a summer internship and also an international visit of Japan. Cost of domestic visits: approximately Rs. 60 thousand (on actuals)

Cost of international visit: approximately Rs. 2 lacs (on actuals)

The objectives of Summer Internship include:

To provide students with opportunities to apply the concepts learnt in the class-room to real-life situations
To sensitize students to the nuances of a work place by assigning time-bound projects in a company
To provide students a platform to network this will be useful to further their career prospects
