Indian institute of Information Technology, Pune is a public university set up on a not-for-profit public-private partnership basis by the Indian Government's Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The IIIT Pune offers 4-year B.Tech programs in 2 disciplines with an intake of 60 students in each specialization per year.

One needs to take the JEE (MAIN) exam and secure at least 75% marks (65% for SC/ST) in Class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in Class 12th exam conducted by the respective board. Admissions are on the basis of rank in JEE (Main).

Admissions are carried out by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) by Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) set up under the Ministry of Human Resources Development.

Candidates should have secured at least 75% marks in their respective 10+2 exams in order to apply for JEE Main.
