The International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Hyderabad is an Information technology research university based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

PG Admission details:

Admission to the M.Tech programmes at IIIT Hyderabad will be through the IIITH PGEE 2016. The IIITH PGEE 2016 is also the entrance test for other PG Diploma and Ph.D programmes at IIIT Hyderabad.

PGEE 2016 Eligibility Criteria

For M.Tech Programme

All who have completed (or going to complete by July 2016) BE/BTech in Engineering (any branch including CS / IT / ECE / EEE / Civil / Instrumentation / Biotechnology) or B.Arch. or Master’s degree in Science/Maths/IT/Computer Science or MCA.

Computer Science Objective
Electronics and Communications Engineering (Objective and Subjective)
Structural Engineering (Subjective)
Computational Natural Sciences and Bioinformatics Objective
Computational Linguistics

Paper I (General Aptitude)

Objective Duration : 1 1/2 hours

(Compulsory for everyone). This is objective type question paper and will emphasize on basic aptitude, logical reasoning, basic questions on computers and mathematics.

Mathematics Syllabus

I. Finite Dimensional Linear Vector Space
Linear Independence, Span, Basis, Orthonormal Set, Gram-Schmidt Orthogo-
nalization Process, Inner Product, Dual Space, Eigen Space, Rank of a Matrix,
Cayley-Hamiltonian Theorem, Similar Matrices, Linear Operator, Hermetian,
Unitary and Normal Matrices, Spectral Decomposition.

II. Group, Ring and Field
Basic Concepts of Groups, Cyclic Group, Cosets, Elementary Concepts of Rings
and Fields.

III. Real Analysis
Concepts of sets of Real numbers, Sequence of Real Numbers, Continuous and
Differentiable Functions, Rolle’s Theorem, Mean Value Theorem and Taylor Se-
ries, Reimann Integration

IV. Probability Theory
Conditional Probability, Bayes Theorem, Random variable, PDF and CDF, Mo-
ment Generating Function, Theoretical Distribution (Binomial, Poisson, Nor-
mal, Uniform and Hyper geometric).

V. Complex Analysis
Analytic functions, Integration, Cauchy’s Integral Theorem, Cauchy’s Integral
formula, Taylor and Laurent Series, Residue, Contour Integration.


VI. Ordinary Differential Equation
Equation of First order and First Degree, Second order Linear Equation with
Constant coefficients.


VII. Optimization
Linear Programming Problem.
