International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT
Hyderabad) is an Information Technology Research University.

It was formed in the year 1998.

It was founded by Mr Ajay Prakash Sawhney.

Mr Ajay Prakash Sawhney was responsible for shaping the conceptual model,
setting up the Institute in 1998 and catalysing its emergence as a pre-
eminent institute in IT Education & Research

The institute is in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, which is about 20 km from the old
city and the central railway station. It is close to HITEC City, which houses
Microsoft, Oracle Corporation, Motorola, Capgemini and Infosys.



IIIT Hyderabad offers undergraduate, postgraduate and dual degree
programmess. Undergraduate programmes award either Bachelor of
Technology (BTech) or BTech (Honors) in Computer Science or Electronics
and Communication Engineering, while postgraduate programmes award
either Master of Technology (MTech), Master of Science (MS) or Master of
Philosophy (MPhil).



Dual degree programmes award BTech/MS The dual degrees offer MS in
Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering,
Computational Natural Science, Computational Linguistics and Exact
Humanities along with a BTech.



PhD degrees and post graduate diplomas are also given. IIIT Hyderabad also
offers MSIT program in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, USA.



The institute lays a great importance on "Human Values" and professional
ethics.
