Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore invites application for admission to the following two graduate programs leading to PhD degrees :

Integrated MTech – PhD, jointly with University of Calcutta

PhD, jointly with Pondicherry Central University

Eligibility :

Age Limit : ( For JRF ) : Maximum 28 years as on 01st January 2015.

Applicants must have complete any of M.Sc. ( Physics ) / Integrated M.Sc. ( Physics ) / B.E. / B.Tech. / M.E. / M.Tech. degrees by August 2015 with 55% marks or more.

Unless Applicants have already scored > 96 percentile in JEST ( Physics ) / GATE ( Physics ),
or

Applicants have a UGC – CSIR – NET Junior Research Fellowship, you are required to appear for the IIA screening test ( IIAST ), at an exam center of your choice.

Selection procedure

Screening test ( IIAST / JEST / GATE / UGC – CSIR – NET ) followed by an interview for the short – listed Applicants

Important Dates
Last date to apply online : 30th October, 2014.
The Admission ( written ) test will be held on : 13th December, 2014, 10:00 a.m.
Examination results will be posted around : 18th December, 2014.
The interview for PhD will be held on : 3rd – 7th January, 2015.
The interview for M.Tech PhD will be held on : End of May, 2015.
