IES preparation Tips and Books
Hi I am preparing for the IES exam so can you give me the tips for preparation and suggest me the books for this exam ?

The Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) conducts the IES exam and the Union Government of India appoints IES officers based on the recommendations made by the UPSC. Tips for preparation- This paper will test the basic knowledge of the candidates and their general understanding about the subject - English. Develop a habit of reading an English newspaper daily. This will increase your vocabulary to a great extent. Read the English grammar books and have a clear concept about the usage of words, parts of speech and tenses. Do preparation according to syllabus and exam pattern. Be fully aware of the short cut techniques as they alone will help you to solve the numerical problems which are a time taking process. Solve as many past question papers as possible, as they will give an idea of what to expect in the exam. For general science read a good newspaper ,journals, yojana, mainstream , NCERT books on various topic of GS, Must watch programmes on current affairs. Here I am suggesting you some books for preparation of IES exam I think it will help you. All The Best….. |

Indian Engineering Service entrance Exam taken by the UPSC for recruitment of engineers in the Engineering Services of the Government of India. Categories of which recruitment is made through the Examination i. Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering ii. Mechanical Engineering iii. Electrical Engineering iv. Civil Engineering IES Exam preparation tips - Try answering questions to depth, marks will not be allotted for mere superficial knowledge - Candidates should use only International form of Indian numerals (e.g. 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc.) while answering question papers. - In objective don’t mark answers if not sure as there is negative marking of 33% - Try to be legible; Deduction up to 5 per cent of the maximum marks for the written papers will be made for illegible handwriting. - Credit will be given for orderly, effective and exact expression combined with due economy of words in the conventional papers of the examination. - Conventional papers must be answered in English. - In the Personality Test special attention will be paid to assessing the candidate’s capacity for leadership, IES Exam preparation Books |
