Re: IES Exam Preparation Tips
Here i am suggesting few tips to crack the IES Exam which you are looking for . - In objective don’t mark answers if not sure as there is negative marking of 33% - Try to be legible; Deduction up to 5 per cent of the maximum marks for the written papers will be made for illegible handwriting. Try answering questions to depth, marks will not be allotted for mere superficial knowledge so don’t waste time in questions which you don’t know properly. - Credit will be given for orderly, effective and exact expression combined with due economy of words in the conventional papers of the examination. - Conventional papers must be answered in English. Question papers will be set in English only. - Candidates should use only International form of Indian numerals (e.g. 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc.) while answering question papers. - In the Personality Test special attention will be paid to leadership, initiative and intellectual curiosity |

Re: IES Exam Preparation Tips
The preparation tips of IES (Indian Engineering Services) Exam as my friend is preparing for the exam are as follows: IES written exam includes both objective and conventional type questions hence theory, conceptual knowledge and problem solving techniques are evenly important. Refer previous year question papers. Take help of Reference books for derivations, equations, conceptual thinking, theory etc. Short Cut Techniques: Traditional methods to solve numerical problems is time taking process, try to figure out short cut techniques to save the time. Reading news paper, good grip on English language and current affairs helps in scoring marks in General Ability paper which carries 200 marks. The General Ability part as the section is scoring and also helps in personal interview. Good writing skills, good presentation, subjective theory, explanations, derivations, diagrams and equations will get good marks in conventional or subjective paper. Always be aware of exam pattern like how many technical & non-technical questions are asked, negative marks weightage, exam duration and marks per question. Personal Interview: Sound technical knowledge, positive attitude, body language, Good communication skills, Hobbies and General Awareness Knowledge plays an important role to clear personal interviews. |
