IES is the Indian Engineering Services exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Eligibility: Candidate must be citizen of India Candidate must have at least bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech./A.M.I.E./B.sc.) from a recognised university or equivalent. Or M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as special subjects also acceptable for certain services Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and Maximum 30 years Age Relaxation: Upper age limit 35 years in the case of Government Servants of certain categories Exam Pattern: The entrance for Indian Engineering Service comprises of a Written Exam (section I and II) and an Interview. Engineering Discipline should be chosen from the following categories: Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering The written examination will comprise two sections: Section I - objective types questions Section II – conventional (essay) type questions papers.
