Re: IES entrance exam after B.Tech Procedure

Indian Engineering Service entrance examination is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) every year.

How to apply-

To apply for IES exam online candidates need to scan their photograph and signature.

Go to the official website of UPSC and fill up the form with all exact details.
In the process of filling the form candidate need to upload the scanned photograph and signature.
Once the form is filled, registration no will be generated.
Get the printout of the online challan and pay the fee to your nearest SBI bank.
Now visit the web portal again to finish the process.
Now fill the challan number and registration number and press enter.

Eligibility Criteria-

Degree in engineering with good records from any recognised university.
Degree of engineering should be in Civil/Tele Communication/Mechanical/Electronic/Electrical.

Age of the candidates should be between 21 years to 30 years.

Important Dates-

Start Date for IES 2015 Registration: 22nd March 2015
Last Date for IES Registration 2015: 21st April 2015
Date of ESE IES 2015 Exam: 20th June 2015( 3 Days exam)

Paper Pattern-

IES examination consist two steps that are-
Written test
Personality test

The IES 2015 exam pattern detail is given below (3 days Exam):

1st Day: General Ability Test of 2 hrs
Part A: General English (60 questions 100 marks)
Part B: General Studies (60 questions 100 marks)

2nd Day: Objective-I (2hrs.), lunch break 1 hr. and then

Objective-II (2hrs.).
Objective –I: Total 120 Questions and 200 marks for 120 questions. Time allowed 2 hrs.
Objective –II: Total 120 Questions and 200 marks for 120 questions. Time allowed 2 hrs.

3rd Day: Conventional-I (3hrs.), lunch break 1 hr. and then Conventional-II (3hrs.)

Conventional –I: Total 5 Questions have to be attempted of 40 marks for each question of total 200 marks. Time allowed 3 hrs.
Conventional –II: Total 5 Questions have to be attempted of 40 marks for each question of total 200 marks. Time allowed 3 hrs.

Interview –
Interview for Personality test of selected candidates 200 Marks, Expected 65 to 165, Time Duration 30 Minutes

Personality Test: 200 marks 30 Minutes
