The Osmania University has an IASE department of education. The Osmania University, established in 1918. This is the seventh oldest in the country, third oldest in South India and the first to be established in the princely state of Hyderabad.

The I.A.S.E., Departmental Committee, Governing Body and Academic Council meetings are convened regularly and many innovative programmes both in-service and pre-service are organized for the benefit of teachers at all levels.
