IAS Vs NDA

I am interested in Army service so I am preparing for NDA (National Defense Academy). But my parent wants to become me an IAS officer. Please tell me what should I do because I want to go in army?

As you want I am telling IAS and NDA both exam conducted by UPSC and NDA exam level 10+2 but for IAS exam applicant must be graduate :

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) also known as Imperial Civil Service (ICS) is the Civil Services Examination and one of the toughest competitive exams in India.

This exam consists of 3 stages namely, the Preliminary Exam, the Mains Exam, and the Personality Test/Interview.

UPSC Civil Services (IAS) Exam Pattern


The Civil Services Exam is conducted by the UPSC every year in three stages and they are:

Stage I: Preliminary Examination
Stage II: Main Examination
Stage III: Personality Test/Interview Round


The stage 1 of the civil services exam is prelims, which is a screening test for candidates and comprises of two papers with questions of objective or MCQ type.

The IAS Prelims Exam Pattern is as follows:
