You can select the subjects according to your interest .IAS exam is conducted by UPSC. Eligibility Criteria: Aspirants must be graduate in any stream from reognized University with any grade. Age Limit: 21-30 years (Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Must citizen of India. No. of Attempts: General students : 4 SC: Unlimited OBC: 7 The IAS exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) every year. List of optional subjects for Main Examination are given below: Agriculture Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science Anthropology Pubic Administration Sociology Chemistry Civil Engineering Commerce and Accountancy Economics Electrical Engineering Geography Geology History Law Management Mathematics Botany Philosophy Physics Political Science and International Relations Psychology Mechanical Engineering Medical Science Statistics Zoology Literature of one of the following languages: Assamese, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and English , Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Bengali, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi Indian Administrative Services Exam Paper Pattern: The IAS Preliminary Examination shall comprise two compulsory papers of 200 marks each. • Except the paper on Modern Indian language and English all the papers will be of 250 marks. • The total of General Studies will be 1000 marks • The Modern Indian Language Paper and the English Paper will be of 600 marks • Essay -250 marks • The Optional Subject will be of 500 marks The following are details of General Studies Papers. • General Studies-I (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society) 250 Marks • General Studies -II: (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations) 250 Marks • General Studies -III (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management) 250 Marks • General Studies -IV (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude) 250 Marks The pattern of questions would be broadly as follows:- Comprehension of given passages Short Essay. As you want to get information about subjects for IAS Exam after completing B.E Computer Science, so here I want to inform you that you have to choose subject for Main Exam. You will not choose any subjects for IAS Pre Exam. Firstly you have to pass in IAS Pre Examination. Then you will be able to appear in IAS Main Exam.
