IAS By Promotion Rules
I want to join civil service exams and doing preparation of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) want to know Functions of IAS Officers. Will you please provide me details of IAS By Promotion Rules also tell me details of Pay Scale of IAS various post?

The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) was formed in the year of 1946. It is one of the three All India Services.(The other two are Indian Forest Services and Indian Police Services). Functions of IAS Officers: The IAS handles affairs of government, which involves the framing and implementation of policy in consultation with the concerned Minister. Implementation of policies calls for supervision and also traveling to the places where the decisions taken are being implemented. Implementation entails disbursement of funds, which calls for personal supervision. The officers are answerable to the Parliament and State Legislatures for any irregularities that may occur. (@65%): Rs 15,366 H.R.A.(@30%): Rs 7,092 T.A.: 5,280 Total: Rs 51,378 The Maximum Salary of an IAS officer: The highest salary is drawn by the Cabinet Secretary among the IAS. His estimated Salary is as follows: Basic Pay: Rs 90,000 D.A : Rs 58,500 HRA: Rs 27,000 T.A.: Rs 5,280 Total: Rs 1,80,780 This salary may increase with the increment of DA. |
