As far my knowledge IAS/IPS is a very difficult exam and it needs a lot of study and hard work so it is quite tough to prepare for IAS/IPS exam while you doing job or study but here I want say one more thing that it depends upon your knowledge, IQ and passion. A casual approach towards this examination will never give you success in it. You need to give sufficient amount of time and follow disciplined routine.

Syllabus of Paper I -(200 marks) Duration : Two hours

Current events of national and international importance.
History of India and Indian National Movement.
Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic.
Geography of India and the World.
Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political.
System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
Economic and Social Development-Sustainable.
Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social.
Sector Initiatives, etc.
General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization.

Syllabus for Paper II-(200 marks) Duration: Two hours
Interpersonal skills including communication skills;
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. - Class X level)

Hello sir, can I do preparation of IAS/IPS exams with doing job? Is IAS/IPS exam preparation is tough while I’m doing study and doing job?

But, IPS/IAS exam are depends upon your knowledge, IQ and passion for this exam. A casual approach towards this examination will never give you success in it. You need to give sufficient amount of time and follow disciplined routine.

The IPS/IAS entrance exam UPSC exam consists of 3 stages –:
Prelims
Mains
Interview

Getting into IAS is not easy considering the competition involved, but not impossible for a candidate with right attitude and approach.

This exam is widely considered as the toughest exam in the world, considering the exam duration (extends 1 year), depth of the syllabus and the competition involved.

Classroom IAS Coaching is adopted by many students for proper guidance and ease of materials for learning though it is not a must for clearing IAS.

So if you wan to crack IPS/IAS exam you need to do hard work and go to attend a coaching classes.
