Union Public Service Commission conducts the IAS or Indian Administrative Service examination every year to hire the most desirable and hard working candidates for Civil Services of state government and public sector responsibility.


As you want info about Age limitation for this exam so you can appear in this exam becoz you are belong to sc and for sc applicant age lime is 35 year , actually age limitations of the candidate should be liable in between 21 to 30 years as on 1st August of the year of examination.

Age relaxation will also be provided for the SC/ST/OBC candidates as per the government rules.

Number of attempts:
For General: 4 times
For OBC: 7 times
For SC/ST: Till 35 yrs of age

Syllabus Preliminary Examination

Paper I
Current events of national and international importance.
History of India and Indian National Movement.
Indian and World Geography -Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
Indian Polity and Governance -Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc
Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization General Science.

Paper II
Comprehension
Interpersonal skills including communication skills
Logical reasoning and analytical ability
Decision-making and problem solving
General mental ability
Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. – Class X level).
English Language Comprehension skills (Class X level)

Here I am giving you eligibility criteria of IAS (Indian Administrative Service) Examination including age limit.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Nationality:
A candidate must be a citizen of India.

2. Education:
A degree from a Central, State or Deemed university
A degree received through Correspondence Education or Distance
A degree from an Open University

3. Age Limit:
Minimum age for everyone is 21 years. The upper age limit for General category is 32 years. For OBC category upper age limit is 35, and for SC/ST it is 37 years.

4. Numbers of attempts:
General Category Candidates and OBC Category Candidates under the Creamy layer = 6 attempts
OBC Category Candidates = 9 attempts
SC/ST Candidates = Unlimited


Selection Process:
Stage I: Preliminary examination:
Test held in August every year

Stage II: Main examination:
Test held in December every year

Stage III: Personality Test (Interview):
Final test held in April/May every year
