The IAS exam is Organized By by the Union Public Service Commission every year.

Eligibility Criteria:
Willing students must have any graduate degree from any recognized University.
Willing Candidate who are in the final year are also eligible.
Willing Candidate’s age should be between 21 and 30 years.

Exam Pattern
IAS Exams are taken in three following phases.
Civil Services Aptitude Test
Civil Services Mains
Personality test

Union Public Service Commission every year holds the IAS Entrance exam .
IAS is the abbreviated form of Indian Administrative Service .

Eligibility
Candidates must have completed their graduation Degree in any Discipline (B.A, B.com, B.E , B.Sc) with atleast 55% from recognized universities.
Final year willing applicants are also applicable.

Age Limit:
Age limit for IAS are as following :
SC/ST category :- 21 to 35 years.
OBC category :- 21 to 33 years.
General category :- 21 to 30 year

Exam Pattern
Exam comprises of two stages. They are
Preliminary Examination
Main Examination

Preliminary examination is type format. The exam consists of two papers, general studies and an optional subject. Questions for 150 marks from general section
300 marks from optional subject.
Students can choose their optional subject from the list given below.

Commerce
Agriculture
Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
Economics
Geography
Geology
Indian History
Law
Mathematics
Philosophy

The medium of instructions will be in English and in Hindi. Time limit of each paper is two hours.
Applicants who have cleared the preliminary examination are eligible for the main exam.

Main examination is of descriptive type.
Time duration for each paper is three hours.
It consists of nine papers.
It comprises of the following papers.
English for 300 marks
General Essay for 300 marks
One Indian Language for 300 marks
General Studies of 300 marks
Any two optional papers for 300 marks each

Personal Interview

The final selection is personal interview.

SC/ST - No limit for attempts
General - max. 4 attempts
OBC - max. 7. attempts

Indian Administrative Services Exam is directed by Union Public Service Commission every year in the month of May to selected applicants to serve on the top notch positions in the Central Government and its several departments.

Eligibility

Applicants must have done Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University.
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years.

Exam Pattern

This exam is normally held in three parts:
Preliminary Exam
Mains exam
Interview

Preliminary Examination syllabus---

Paper 1 (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs.
• History of India and Indian national movement
• Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
• Current events of national and international importance
• Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
• Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
• General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization
• General science.

Paper 2 (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs.
• Comprehension
• Interpersonal skills including communication skills
• English language comprehension skills (Class X level)
• Logical reasoning and analytical ability
• Decision making and problem solving
• General mental ability
• Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level)
