The University of Hyderabad was established by an Act of Parliament (Act No. 39 of 1974) on 2nd October, 1974 as a Central University,

M.Tech Bioinformatics Course structure:
The Courses consists of four semesters of eleven core subjects and two optional subjects covered in first three semesters.
First Semester:
Computational Techniques (C, Perl)
Proteomics
Basic Mathematics & statistics
Molecular Modeling and Chemo informatics
Bioinformatics

Second Semester:
Genomics
Mathematical Modeling of Biological Systems
Machine Learning Methods and Biological Networks
Molecular Simulation and Drug Design
Metagenomics

Third Semester:
Bioentreprenuership
Elective 1: Gene Expression/ Java programming for Bioinformatics applications
Elective 2: Databases/ Biological networks
Project Work

Fourth Semester:
Project Work

Molecular Biology Lab
Sun Rays Thin Clients and Sun Blade Work stations at CDFD
Computational Lab
DBMS Lab
A grid computing node in Centre for Modeling, Simulation and Design (CMSD)
Students can access Super Computer (PARAM) at CMSD
