The Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the most prevalent sexually transmitted disease (STD) to pose a significant public health problem especially among the adolescent population.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a DNA virus from the papillomavirus family that is competent of infecting humans. Two HPV vaccines are currently on the market: Gardasil and Cervarix.

HPV is mostly use in schools. In 2004 less people of knew about HPV. Toronto high school 87% students had not heard of HPV in 2004.

After involving HPV in education system increased vaccine knowledge among groups influential to the HPV vaccination behaviors of adolescent females.

HPV does not transmit from blood.
