Shivaji University was established back in the year of 1962 and it is in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India. It is spread over a sprawling campus of 853 acres (3.4519 km2). The university is named after the great Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, founder of the Maratha Empire. It was inaugurated on 18 November 1962 by Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the then president of India.
