Sikkim University is a central university which was formed under an Act of Parliament of India on 2nd July 2007. It is located in Gangtok and is fully funded by the Government of India.

If you living in Silliguri then you may reach sikkim University in Gangtok by airport. Silliguri is the nearest city connects to Gangtok. The airport of Silliguri is located at Bagdogra and the Railway station.

The New Jalpaiguri station is about 8 km away from Siliguri. Silliguri is well connected by road networks to various neighbouring states.
