To make Career in defense after b.tech, you need to appear in the Combined Defence Services Examination which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. Here are the details of this examination:

Eligibility:
The applicant should have completed graduation with good academic record from any recognized university of India.

Age limit:
19-24 Years

Tentative Schedule: (Examination held twice a year)
Notification of Examination August and March
Conduct of Examination February and August

The entrance exam covers following topics:
English (Objective type)
General Knowledge (Objective type)
Elementary Mathematics (Objective type)

After completion of B.Tech, you want to join in defense, and then you have to appear in exams like this

CDSE (Combined defense service exam)

UES (University entry scheme)

Eligibility for CDSE

Indian Military Academy
The candidate must have to complete the graduation in any trade.
The age should be in between 19-24 years.

Naval Academy
The candidate must have completed the graduation in engineering field.
Age limit
19-23 years.

Air force
The candidate must have completed the graduation in any trade, but must have Maths and physics in 12th.
Age limit
19-23 years.

Eligibility for UES

The candidate must have complete the graduation in engineering field with 60% aggregate
Age limit
18-28 years.

These are eligibility criteria for UES scheme.

After clearing any of the above mention exam, you will get a call letter for the SSB..
If you able to clear the SSB, then you can join in defense
