Hello, to join the Indian Administrative Service and to become the IAS you need to give the UPSC entrance exam for the IAS post. Here I am providing you the details of the IAS exam as under: Eligibility: Candidates who have the professional and technical qualifications recognised by the Government as equivalent to professional and technical degrees are eligible Candidates must have the graduation degree from the recognised university Candidates who have appeared or intend to appear for the qualifying examination and are awaiting results are also eligible to appear for the Preliminary Examination. Age limit: 32 years Number of attempts: 9 for the open and OBC candidates There are no maximum attempts for the SC/ST Paper pattern: Preliminary Examination The Examination shall comprise two compulsory papers of 200marks each. Mains exam: Paper-I and II There will be two qualifying papers in any Indian language and English each of 300 marks. Paper-III Essay 250 Marks Paper-IV General Studies-I (Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society) of 250 marks Paper-V General Studies -II (Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations) of 250 marks Paper-VI General Studies -III (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management) of 250 marks Paper-VII General Studies -IV (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude) of 250 marks PAPER-VIII & PAPER IX Optional Subject Papers |
