Osmania University is a public state university located in Hyderabad, India, and founded in 1918 with the help of chief Architect of Mahbub Ali Khan - Nawab Sarwar Jung.

The details of the Post graduation course Admission are given below

Eligibility Criteria :
Eligible for Admission to Post-Graduate Course in any Academic Year, a candidate
must have passed/appeared for the Qualifying Degree Examination and must have qualified at the common Entrance Test conducted by the University in the Academic year for which admission is sought.

Admission Seats :

Schedules Caste* ....... 15 percent
Scheduled Tribe* ....... 6 percent

Backward Class*

Group A ....... 7 percent

Group B ........ 10 percent

Group C ........ 1 percent

Group D .. ....... 7 percent

Group E .......... 4 percent ( subject to court decision )

Entrance test :
At the Post-Graduate level and Ph.D. programmes, admission is through an entrance examination in the relevant subject
Admission in Engineering and Technology courses at the Under-Graduate level, is through a State-wide Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET), held every year.
Merit obtained at the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
