How to get admission in Merchant Navy

How can i join merchant navy, please provide procedure & also give more details???

You can join merchant navy by appearing in CET (Common Entrance Test) conducted by IMU (Indian Maritime University) twice a year.

One for February batch and other for August batch.
The exam for February batch is generally held in December and for August batch it is held in the month of June.

12Th appearing students should appear in June for August session after you clear the exam, you would be called for counselling to Chennai and your college would be allotted to you on the basis of merit.

Eligibility:
The lower age limit is 17 years.
Upper age limit is 25 years which is relaxed by 2 years for female candidates and 5 years for SC/ST.
You need to clear the interview in order to get a job.

You should have good command over English language, both spoken and written.

Qualification:
The Candidates must be 10+2 PCM in addition he/she must meet requirement and clear one of the following entrance test.
1. IMU

You will join merchant navy in following two ways-
1. Sponsored Candidate.
2. Non-Sponsored Candidate
