Re: How to become a Scientist
Scientists require dedicated attention, ability to work tirelessly for hours and the capacity to concentrate irrespective of unfavorable conditions and surroundings besides a skill of processing thoughts and experiences very quickly. They must have the ability to work independently and sometimes with little guidance and little supervision; make own decisions; self motivated; and the ability to keep firm. Scientist possess a great eagerness for their subject, presentation skills, team working, computing skills, time management/organising skills and people skills. Steps to become a Scientist Step 1: Science is a must in 10 2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects. One can take up Biology as one of your core subjects. Step 2: You have to do your graduation in Science subject of your choice and secure very good grades Step 3: Pursue Master in the subject of interest to further realize your dream of a scientist Step 4: Prepare and clera NET (National Eligibility Test) and get your JRF (Junior Research Fellow) to start your research. Or Enroll in a PhD program in a university and apply for grants in institutes Or Prepare for GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) Step 5: After clearing GATE, enroll for Doctoral Programs in any branch of science with government scholarships. You can get your doctoral degree after 5 years of extensive research.
