Gazetted officer means an officer whose name appears in the official Gazette published by the Government. Only, officials of Indian government are recognized as Gazetted officers. One needs to seek recruitment in a Government Service through various competitive exams which would entail for Gazetted rank automatically.

Here I am providing you the details of the recruitment done in 2014 for Gazetted Officer for Indian Coast Guard for Group ‘A’:

The Indian Coast Guard, offers career in various branches as a Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer in the rank of Assistant Commandant.

Name of the Post:
Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officers - Assistant Commandant

Name of the Branch:
1. General Duty
2. General Duty (Pilot/ Navigator or Observer)

Education Qualification:
One should hold a Bachelor degree of recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.
Mathematics and Physics as subject up to intermediate or class XII of 10 + 2 + 3 scheme of education with 60% aggregate marks of both subjects.

3. Technical branch (Mechanical and Electrical)
Education Qualification: Engineering degree with 60% marks in aggregate or should have passed Sections A and B examination from the Institution of Engineers (India) in Engineering/ Electrical Branch with 60% marks.

4. Pilots (Helicopter and fixed wing) Commercial Pilot License holders
Education Qualification: Aggregate 60% marks in 12th standard also 60% aggregate marks of both Mathematics and Physics subjects. Should possess current / valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) approved by DGCA on the date of Preliminary Selection.

5. General Duty (Women)
Education Qualification: Should hold a Bachelor degree of recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate. Mathematics and Physics as subject up to intermediate or class XII of 10 + 2 + 3 scheme of education with 60% aggregate marks of both subjects.

6. Law
Education Qualification: A Degree in Law with minimum 60 % marks.
