How To Become A Doctor In The Army
I am planning to build my career in medical field so that I can join Indian army looking for the details related to this. Will you please provide me all details how to become a doctor in Indian army what the requirements also tell me what types of test I have to give to apply as a doctor?

Every year or twice a year, Army Medical Corps invites application from doctors to join as Short Service Commissioned Medical Officers. To become a doctor in Army you will have to do Graduate level course in Medical Science i.e., MBBS. Once you complete the MBBS (or equivalent) degree then only you can join Indian Army as a doctor. The joining of doctors is done in Army Medical Corps. This recruitment in Army Medical Corps is done through SSC examination. CMS stands for the combined medical services examination which is conducted by the union public service commission of india to select the candidates for the 5 posts in different areas. Posts are as follows- -Assistant divisional medical officer post in indian railways. -Junior scale post in indian ordinance factories health service. -Junior scale posts in central health service. -Medical officer in the municipal corporation of delhi. -general duty medical officer in NDMC. Age Limit: Your age needs to be below 32 years. There will be the age relaxation for the SC/ST/OBC candidates. Educational qualification - MBBS completed candidate or final exam appearing candidate can apply for the same. At the time of verification need to submit all the document for the proof. There will be the written examination on the first stage – There will be 2 papers of 200 marks each both objective type. Paper 1 200 marks - general medicine including cardiology , neurology, dermatalogy, and pshychiatry weightage should be 60%. Paper 2 paediatrics 20%, gynocology 40% , preventive social and community medicine 40%. Total marks need to be 400 personality test 200 marks. Physical strands Height - 165cm or above. Weight - 50kg or less. Chest width - 77-82cm. No eye and hearing defects. Wax in ear will be temporarily unfit. So better get it examined and cleaned before interview. Perforation of TM will be permanent unfit. Minimum dental points reqd- 14 Skin diseases - Pmt Unfit Corrected vision 6/6 is a must. Worst eye uncorrected 6/60. Lasik done one year back is acceptable. Colour blindness is permanent uunfit Hernia/abdominal surgery in the past one year - temporarily unfit Hydrocele/varicocele - Pmt Unfit Chest expansion min 05 cms Cardiac murmurs Hepatomegaly/splenomegaly- Temp Unfit Knock knees, Kyphosis, Scoliosis, Pigeon chest, barrel chest, flat foot - Permanently unfit Phymosis and Paraphymosis - Permanently unfit USG ,Chest Xray, X ray of long bones will be done Pregnancy - Pmt Unfit Blood Tests : Hb, TLC, DLC, ESR, Platelet Count, LFT, RFT, Serum Cholesterol, FBS All specialist examination including Gynecology examination for ladies |
