According to Me It is important that while mentioning ones hobby, the candidate must be thoroughly aware about it and should answer the questions well.

Every individual tries to follow his or her hobbies during their leisure time. However, if one is facing an interview to make it to the IIMs,

it is important that the individual does not fake it. At the same time having a thorough knowledge about your hobby does not guarantee you a seat in the IIMs.

For Example :

Reading is a great hobby, and it can be quite addictive once you get started. Plus, it will be a great asset growing up.

You can simply pick up some (20-30) good books (not popular, good!), read them, analyze them, read their critiques and dissections, and have an intelligent conversation during the interview.

Also, make sure that you have time to figure out your interests are (are you interested in medieval history, or Russian literature, or satire, or comedy etc). And may be read more than one book of at least one author.
