Re: History Of Arrears In Anna University

Hey buddy now the time the Anna University has indicated to students that with many companies easing their eligibility criteria, an arrear-free academic record is not a must to apply for placements.

This measure comes as a welcome relief for students, who can now focus on employment, rather than brooding over missed chances due to arrears.

But in my opinion you must clear your arrears and I assure you that after completion your arrears you can go into any MNC if you still have less percentile because the trend is changing and now the focus is more on the skilled students

Calculation of CGPA

The CGPA and GPA is calculated only on the subjects you have cleared.

For example if in a semester there are 8 subjects, and you fail in 7 of them but get an 'S' grade on the one subject you passed, you get a GPA of 10 for that semester.

As you clear each of the courses you failed, the GPA gets updated along with the CGPA.

So as a rule of thumb, ignore the subjects you failed, just look at the credits of the subjects you have passed in, multiply it with the grade you have secured and keep adding the values together for all the subjects you have cleared.

Divide this value with total number of credits of the subjects you have cleared.

This will give you the GPA.

Since the credits for each semester are not the same, you will have to do this calculation for all subjects right from your first semester to arrive at your CGPA.
