History of Anna University

I am interested to write an article on my blog on the topic of Anna University. I don’t have idea about its history much. Can you help me to figure out the Anna University history? Please share the details from the depth so I can make my article effective?

The Government of Tamil Nadu established the Anna University of Technology on 4 September 1978 through Tamil Nadu Act 30 of 1978.

Anna University is a state technical university in Tamil Nadu, India. The main campus is in Guindy, Chennai.

The University was formed by bringing together and integrating four well known technical institutions in the city of Madras (now Chennai) namely,

College of Engineering (CEG) (Established in 1794)
Alagappa College of Technology (ACT) (Established in 1944)
Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) (Established in 1949)
School of Architecture & Planning (SAP) (Established in 1957)
