The Department offers 3 year Undergraduate programme B.Sc. Visual Communication under University of Madras which is a much sought after course for those with a creative bent of mind.

Course Modules

I year –

Drawing & Painting and Graphic Designing with tools like pencil, brush, pastel, water colour, charcoal, etc. Typography, Anatomy, Landscape, Still life, etc. Theory subjects include Introduction to Visual Communication and Communication Skills.

II year –
Introduction to Computer Graphics, Image Editing, Color Correction, Creating, Print Designing, etc. Types of SLR Cameras, Operation Techniques, Composition, Types of lighting, Types of Photography, Black & White Developing & Printing Techniques, etc. Theory subjects include Advertising, Printing and Publication, Elements of film studies and Basic Photography.

III year –
Motion Camera Techniques, Lighting, Composition, Floor management, Types of Shot, Script Writing, Indoor & Outdoor shooting techniques. Making of Documentary, Corporate, Advertising & Short Films, and etc. 3D Models & Animation. Theory subjects include Media, Culture & Society, Television Production, Media Organization, etc. Students will undergo one-month internship training in any of the Media Industry of their choice.
