Hindustan Insecticides Limited (HIL), a Govt. of India Enterprise, under the Deptt. of Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India, was incorporated in March, 1954 for supplying DDT for National Malaria Eradication Programme launched by the Government of India.

The authorized and paid up share capital of it were Rs. 100 crores and Rs. 91.33 crores respectively as on March 31, 2016. The shareholding of the Government of India in the company is 100%.
