Himachal Pradesh University is a public non-profit university at Summer Hill about 5 km from the world-renowned hill-station Shimla, in the vicinity of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study.

The Detials of the BEd Admission is given below

Duration :

The duration of B.Ed. course shall be of 2 academic years, which can be completed in a maximum of 3 years from the date of admission to the course


Number of Seats
The NCTE has approved a total number of 100 seats, out of which 50 seats are in Non-Medical Stream, 30 seats in Medical Stream, 15 seats in Arts Stream and 05 seats in Commerce Stream, which are filled up as per 100-point roster

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor s Degree (Medical/Non-Medical/Commerce/Arts) and or in the Master s Degree in Sciences/ Social Sciences/Humanity, Bachelor s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto and 45% marks in case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped categories in the aforesaid Bachelor s/Master s Degree and 50% marks for Bachelor s in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University estd by law in India are eligible for admission to the programme

About the Entrance Exam
An objective type (MCQ) Entrance Test for admission to B.Ed. Course will be conducted by the Entrance Test Section, H.P. University, Shimla

Examination Pattern

The B.Ed. Entrance Test will consist of one questions paper with 150 MCQ type of one mark each and will be of 2 hours duration; there will be no negative marking and will include the following five sections:

a) General Awareness (Mainly HP & India): 40 Questions & 40 Marks
b) Language & Comprehension (Hindi & English): 40 Questions & 40 Marks
c) Logical Reasoning: 40 Questions & 40 Marks
d) Knowledge of National Commissions/Committees: 20 Questions & 20 Marks
e) Teaching Aptitude & Aptitude: 20 Questions & 20 Marks
Total - 150 No. of Questions and 150 Marks
