HIHT University was established under the aegis of the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust, which is the sponsoring society of the University. The university was founded by a great yogi, scientist, philosopher, philanthropist, researcher and writer, H.H. Dr. Swami Rama. Courses Offered Doctor of Medicine in General Medicine Post Graduate Diploma in Nursing Doctor of Medicine in Forensic Medicine Doctor of Medicine in Psychiatry Doctor of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Doctor of Medicine in Paediatrics Doctor of Medicine in Anasthesia Doctor of Medicine in Dermatology Doctor of Medicine in Radiodiagnosis & Imaging Doctor of Medicine in Community Medicine Doctor of Medicine in Pathology Doctor of Medicine in Physiology Admission Details Admissions: Every year in the month of January, the University conducts the all India level Post Graduate Medical Entrance Examination (PGMEE). A merit list is prepared based on this examination. The candidates are called for counseling in the month of February/March. The session starts from May. Eligibility Criteria : (i) A candidate, who holds an MBBS degree from a recognized medical college or a foreign medical degree included in the schedules of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and who has obtained full registration either from the Medical Council of India (ii) A candidate, who after passing the final qualifying examination (MBBS or the foreign medical degree recognized by MCI), is undergoing a 12 month compulsory rotating internship and is likely to complete the same by 31st March of the admission year, can also take up this examination.
