GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences was founded in 1824. It is the 11th oldest medical school in the country and the first in the nation’s capital. It is esteemed end for medical school graduates across the country. Eligibility Students who have an undergraduate bachelor degree from a U.S. or Canadian college or university is required prior to matriculation. Online coursework or transfer coursework from foreign schools is not acceptable. One who have completed or in process to complete (prior to matriculation): 6 credits of English 6 credits of lecture and 2 credits of lab in each of the following sciences: Biology (not Botany or Ecology courses) General Chemistry Organic Chemistry (Biochemistry can be substituted for second semester) Physics One who is taken or planning to take the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) by no later than September 30, 2014 MCAT scores prior to April 2012 can not be accepted. One needs to be a U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or Canadian citizen at the time of application Those who do not fulfill the above mentioned requirements need to apply to the International Medicine Program. Technical Standards Medical student need to master a common body of basic science knowledge and master the principles, knowledge, and procedures of the core required disciplines.
