Master Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, is a Central University of India, situated in Bilaspur C.G. State, set up under Central Universities Act 2009, No. 25 of 2009. Some time ago called Guru Ghasidas University (GGU), built up by an Act of the State Legislative Assembly, was formally introduced on June 16, 1983.

GGU is a dynamic individual from the Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities. Arranged in a socially and monetarily tested zone, the college is suitably named to respect the colossal Satnami Saint Guru Ghasidas (conceived in seventeenth century), who championed the reason for the oppressed and pursued a steady battle against all types of social shades of malice and bad form winning in the general public.
