GRE is Graduate Record Examination is the test used to get admissions in the graduate schools or business schools in the United States and other English speaking countries. Here I am providing few tips for GRE Exam while studying graduation which you are looking for . Decide when you want to take the test. Understand the test format and acquaint yourself to the different test patterns and sections. Start out by practicing a couple of tests without timing yourself. Note the sections you spend the most time for and start working to improve on them. Invest in a GRE study book and use it. Set aside some time every day for the preparation. Make a timetable to complete a section of the syllabus each day. Get a lot of practice Search the web for resources. Keep yourself motivated. Sleep well. Remember that learning and preparation should be fun. For getting good score in GRE you require proper planning and strategy. Here I am giving you tips for preparation of GRE. Refer following Best Books for Preparation of GRE. 1. Barrons GRE 2. Nova Series- GRE 3. Big Book tests Preparation Tips for Verbal Section: Start practice on vocabulary 4 months in advance. Study the word lists in the morning, and then revise the same in the evening. On every weekend I used to revise the already studied Words. Practice on Antonyms, Analogies and Sentence Completion. Preparation Tips for Quantitative Section: Practice on all the tricks given in Barrons and solved mostly all exercise problems given in Nova. Important topics are Geometry, Probability, Permutations & Combinations, and Ratio-Proportion. Also practice for basics of Geometry – Co-ordinate Geometry, Circles, Polygon properties. Preparation Tips for Analytical Writing Section: Read the AWM material given in Barrons. Focus on most of the topics given in ETS website for AWM and you’ll get an idea as to what kind of Essays are asked. GRE Practice tests Strategy: Take time to answer the first 10 questions, in both Verbal and Quant sections, since these answers would map to your scoring in the Adaptive test. Your Princeton scores are nearly accurate indicators of your actual GRE score. So, take these tests only when you are complete with all the preparation for all the sections. Practice essays – at least 2-3, since writing in the actual test environment. |
