NIT stands for national institute of technology. Admissions to these institutes are given on the basis of IIT JEE ranks secured. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that conducts the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Main) for admission to B.Tech courses in top IITs & NITs & other top colleges for Engg. To appear IIT JEE you have secured at least 50% mark. Here are the detailed criteria; The candidate must have passed in final exam of class XII or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying exam. Candidates must have passed 5 subjects in their Class XII. Candidates can attempt JEE Main for a maximum of three times. Paper Pattern |

Here I am giving you details for admission in NIT after 12th including required percentage. Admissions Criteria for JEE (Main) Exam: • Admission to NITs, and IIITs, will be based on 40 % weight age for performance in Class XII board or other qualifying examinations marks (normalized) and the remainder 60 % weight age would be given to performance in JEE (Main) and a combined All India Rank (AIR) would be decided accordingly. • The policy could also be adopted by other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) and participating Institutions. No of attempts in JEE (Main) Exam: • Number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE (Main) shall be limited to 03 (three) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years. • Candidates passed +2 exam in 2013 or 2014 or appearing in +2 in 2015 are only eligible to appear in JEE(Main)-2015.
