Re: Geology Department University of Pune

Established in 1955 the Department of Geology was completely settled in the august grounds of the then University of Pune amid 1971. Without further ado with an admission limit of 25, the Department runs the credit based course of M Sc Geology having a few discretionary credits included on numerous occasions upgrading the syllabus. Twelve full time employees with skill in traditional, connected and rising fields of geosciences run the course.

The Department is all around outfitted with fundamental and also propelled offices including a refined flimsy segment and cleaning lab (Buehler supplies), a few optical magnifying lens (Nikon, Leica, Zeiss), XRF (Panalytical), ICPE (Shimadzu), XRD (Rigaku), AAS (Varian), HPIC, Microwave processing, Millipore and the Palaeomagnetic types of gear. The Department is perceived and financed by the national projects of DST-FIST (Phase II) and UGC SAP-DRS2, UPE, ISRO including some assets from ONGC.

Facilities

The office is very much furnished with cutting edge offices including top of the line magnifying lens, rock-meager area machines, ICPES, X-Ray fluorescence, Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, Palaeomagnetic lab and HPIC. It additionally holds a library with redesigned books on educating and research notwithstanding the Central Library holding a boundless accumulation of diaries, books and reference book.
