Genetic Counselling Admission Requirements

Master of Science in Genetics is a postgraduate Genetics course. Genetics wrap the authority of biology, the skill of genes, heredity, and discrepancy in living wage organisms. Genetics contract among the molecular structure and function of genes, with gene actions in the situation of a cell or human being, with blueprint of inheritance from blood relation to children, and with gene sharing, difference and vary in populations. The period of M.Sc. in Genetics is as a rule two academic years except it varies from college to college.

Requirement for M.sc.

One course in Biochemistry (an introductory course is acceptable)

One course in Statistics (an introductory course is acceptable)

Minimum overall average in the B+ range (equivalent to 76% at UBC) in all third and fourth year courses.

Academic standing with at least 12 credits of third or fourth year courses (equivalent to 4 courses at UBC) in the A grade range (80% or higher at UBC)

One-on-one counseling experience (A minimum of 3 months experience prior to entry into the program) in a setting such as a Distress Line, Peer Counselling, Rape Relief Centre etc.
