Yes, it is compulsory to clear TANCET/GATE for admission in Masters in Engineering (M.E.) degree Program offered by GCT (Government College Of Technology) Coimbatore

Post Graduate Program:

The Government of Tamil Nadu has nominated Anna University, Chennai as its nodal agency for the conduct of Tamil Nadu Common Admissions through single window counseling for M.E. / M. Tech.

Admission to all postgraduate courses i.e. Masters in Engineering (M.E.) are carried out through the Single Window System of the Anna University.

Candidates who have written the TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) for M.E. degree programmes/ valid GATE Score are eligible. Students can choose the courses based upon the rank calculated by their marks in the TANCET/GATE score.

Reservations are provided for BC/ MBC/ DNC/ SC/ ST Etc as per the rules of the Government of Tamil Nadu.

TANCET/GATE is prerequisite for admissions to GCT for PG courses.
