The Govind Ballabh Pant Social Science Institute was established in 1980 as one in the network of Social Science Research Institutes which is set up by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) in association with Government of Uttar Pradesh. The Institute undertakes interdisciplinary research in the field of social sciences.

Minimum qualification for Admission

Graduation from a recognized institution in any stream
Students appearing in the final year exam of the undergraduate class can also be apply.

For Foreign Students:

Admission of foreign students is done strictly as per recommendations of the foreign student’s advisor of the University as supernumerary seats.
Foreign students which are recommended by the Government of India shall be admitted without Admission Test.
