As you have completed diploma in ECE and interested for job , then scope of promotion and better salary would be thin.

Therefore I will suggest that you should go for B.Tech in ECE

You can take admission in B.tech through lateral entry. This would give you admission in the second year for B.Tech course.

For the Lateral Entry you are required to appear in Lateral Entry Engineering Test for admission.

In IIT or NIT since there is no provision in these universities to offer admission to diploma students through Lateral Entry .

Once you have completed the B.Tech there would be several good opportunities for you in Public Sector Units .

The job process includes written test followed by the interview.

Therefore I would suggest that you appear for the GATE entrance exam as well.
