UPSC to conduct Civil Services Examination (CSE) for selecting the aspirants the 24 major posts in India, three most important and prestigious all India service posts are IAS, IPS, and IFS. Focusing on IAS and IAS Exam, Category Stage I: Preliminary Examination Stage II: Main Examination Stage III: Personality Test/Interview Round Eligibility Criteria Nationality A Citizen of India. A citizen of Nepal or a subject of Bhutan Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 to settle permanently in India A Person of Indian Origin who has migrated from Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, Zaire, or Zambia with an intention of permanently settling in India Education Qualification A degree from any of the universities integrated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India A degree from any other educational institutions recognized by an Act of Parliament A degree or an equivalent qualification from any Deemed University under the UGC Act, 1956 A degree through correspondence or distance education A degree from an open university A qualification equivalent to one of the above which is recognized by the Government of India Age Limit : a candidate should have achieved at least 21 years of age and should not have attained 32 years of age Exam Pattern : The Civil Services Exam is conducted by the UPSC every year in three stages and they are: Stage I: Preliminary Examination Stage II: Main Examination Stage III: Personality Test/Interview Round Preliminary Examination Serial Number Name of Paper Marks Allotted Paper 1: General Ability Test (GAT) 200 Marks Paper 2: English Language and Aptitude 200 Marks Total 400 Marks Main Exam Paper A- One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidates from the Language included in the 6th Schedule of the Constitution Paper B- English Paper 1 - Essay Paper 2 General Studies I Paper 3 General Studies II Paper 4 General Studies III Paper 5 - General Studies IV Paper 6 Optional Subject 1 Paper 7 Optional Subject 2 |
