The Frostburg State University Police Department mission is to create a safe and secure environment in which others may work, study, learn and live. Many of its services are proactive and contribute to the part of a university education that occurs outside the classroom.

The University Police are responsible for the safety and security of all who learn, live, work, and visit the campus. The University Police Department has full law enforcement authority on campus. Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

University Police services include but are not limited to:

Investigation of crimes and incidents on campus
Reporting crimes
Responding to calls for service
Responding to emergencies
Enforcing traffic laws
Making arrests
Overseeing vehicle registration and parking enforcement
Managing lost and found
Providing fingerprinting service
Proactively preventing crime by educational presentations to the campus community
Maintaining physical security of the buildings
