Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national level MBA entrance test, conducted quarterly by the All India Management Association (AIMA). MAT is conducted in the month of February, May, September and December, in offline (paper-pen) and online (computer) modes.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be graduates in any discipline from a recognized institute or university.
Final year Bachelor s Degree students may also apply provided they complete their graduation within the stipulated date.

Syllabus

Language Comprehension

MAT syllabus for Language Comprehension consists of English Grammar based questions; English Proficiency; Fill in the Blanks, Para jumble, Reading Comprehension.

Intelligence and Critical Reasoning
Although MAT syllabus for this section is short but in fact MAT question paper has tricky questions in this area. Major topics covered in MAT syllabus on Intelligence and Critical Reasoning are Fact Inference Judgment, Passage Conclusion, Analogy, Statement Argument among others.


Mathematical skills
Topics covered in MAT syllabus on Mathematical skills, broadly are Elementary Mathematics; Arithmetic:- Number System, Ratio and Proportion, Mixtures and Allegation; Unitary Method; Time and Distance; Commercial Maths; Profit and Loss, Interest; Geometry; Triangles, Circles; Mensuration; Algebra Permutation and Combinations; Sequence And Series; Trigonometry Heights and Distance; Linear Programming; Coordinate Geometry. MAT syllabus as it reflects consists of more topics on Arithmetic in MAT question paper.


Data Analysis and Sufficiency
This section as per the MAT question paper is more time consuming. MAT syllabus on Data Analysis and Sufficiency cover the topics on Table; Data Sufficiency; graphs (line, area), charts (column, bar, pie), venn diagram among others. The questions in September MAT question paper can be expected in sets as well as individual ones.


Indian and Global Environment

MAT syllabus on Indian and Global Environment expects you to know everything under the Sun. Major topics covered in MAT syllabus in this section are Economics, finance, national and international current affairs. There are many other topics on which questions are placed in the MAT question paper in this section. Questions are also based on conventional GK in MAT question paper. In-depth and regular reading of GK helps more as sometimes a few GK questions in MAT exam need intensive reading.
