The Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA) is the UK's chartered professional body for mathematicians and one of the UK's learned societies for mathematics (the other main one being the London Mathematical Society).

The Eligibility Criteria Fellow Menber Ship is as follow :

Eligibility Criteria :

Applicants for Fellow require senior professional standing based on demonstrable achievement and competence in the development or application of mathematics.

In addition to an approved qualification for the Member grade applicants must have:
completed seven years of research in mathematics or its applications which has made a valuable contribution to the subject, OR
completed ten years responsible work requiring knowledge and application of mathematics, OR
made outstanding contributions to the development or application of mathematics.
